Why write smut?
Am I just a pervert with a pen? (hmm...I'm not sure!)
My name is Barbara, Barb to my friends. I'm an author of more than sixty titles. Long before I experimented with writing erotica ('smut' to my friends embarrassed by this genre), I wrote works of fantasy and science fiction. I have fifteen mainstream titles floating around out there and I love them all. But what I learned was that writing them was a totally different experience than what I do now. Each one was a long process involving months or sometimes years to complete. Then I drafted a story for a forum that catered to humiliation erotica. I fell in love! The parts were short, easy to write, and each time I posted something new, I connected with new readers and discovered I was not alone! There are a lot of us that love and enjoy writing smut!
It's exciting! It's erotic! It's so satisfying creating characters that I can fantasize about. This is my passion, and I hope it's yours too!

Mission
I provide stories that titillate and arouse my readers. I create passages intended to stimulate and bring release to others, like me, who enjoy humiliation erotica. Success is measured by the usual analytics including: copies sold, pages read, and of course reviews...and running a mile on my leash without getting tripped up!
Vision
I’ve always found it supremely erotic when one person finds themselves at the mercy of another in a sexually humiliating way. I love dominance and submission but there are other ingredients that need to be included. For example, I think it's made more erotic when the sub is reluctant to play. I love it when my sub does something embarrassing just because I want them to. I want to share that feeling in my stories. And the truth is that while I'm very good at being dominant, it's my submissive side that really makes me tingle.
Typically, I find that there is usually some element of blackmail in fictional stories like this. This is the incentive that motivates my characters to play along. But there doesn't have to be! It's also very hot when you find that unique character who secretly knows the excitement of their humiliation. It's important to understand that my characters don't enjoy being humiliated, instead they desire the sexual stimulation that comes with it. I want my protagonist to feel this conflict of emotions.
When I write something erotic, I imagine what would excite me, what would embarrass me, and what might test me, pushing me to my limits. I strive to make sure that my readers are getting the most sexually stimulating plots possible. I really want the ingredients of my characters' humiliation to rise to the top–and boil over!
